Throughout the process of creating the Neptune trilogy, a simple yet loaded question became a restless tenant in my mind: "Why do we keep paying for crimes we haven't committed?"

When I was assaulted, a black hole made itself present and it told me the ugliest things. And sometimes, I still believe what it tells me. And sometimes, I tell it to choke on its own gravity.

I've come to realise that I will always be in orbit with these conflicting feelings but that didn't mean they had the authority to swallow me whole. Even if it seems like I will be forever grounded on Neptune, the coldest planet, I can still look up to the sun and dare to be like Icarus.

I owe that to that scared young girl and I owe that to the woman I am today.

Creating Psamathe broke and mended my heart all at once – it's named after the most distant moon from Neptune and I hope you know that it was all made with a love and power that transcends any black hole.
